Collect The Alphabet Mutations

Neon · Rainbow · Dark · added Aug 28 & Sep 12, 2026

Mutations are the newest layer of Collect The Alphabet — so new that the game's official title is now [MUTATIONS] Collect The Alphabet. Announced on August 21 and shipped with the August 28 update, mutations are special variants that can appear if you're lucky: Neon and Rainbow roll from any letter pack, and the Dark mutation (added September 12, 2026) covers numbers and symbols. They're a collection layer on top of the 26-letter alphabet: first you complete the wall, then you chase the shiny versions.

The mutation types

Neon

The glowing variant. Neon letters can be pulled from any letter pack, regardless of rarity tier — the mutation rolls independently of what the pack would normally drop.

Rainbow

The showpiece variant, pulled the same way: from any letter pack, when luck is on your side. Rainbow letters are the natural long-term chase for players who have already filled their wall.

Dark

The newest variant, added with the September 12 update. Unlike Neon and Rainbow, Dark applies to numbers and symbols — the developer's challenge: see if you can get them all.

Exact pull rates for the mutations have not been published by the developer, so we don't quote numbers. What is confirmed: Neon and Rainbow roll from any letter pack — Mythic Packs from codes give the most rolls of the rarest tiers, which makes them the fastest mutation hunting tool too.

Mutation boosts in the shop

The update also changed the global shop: the stock — which resets every 20 minutes — now includes dedicated 2x Mutation boost slots alongside 2x Luck. When a Mutation boost appears, that's the moment to burn through a stack of packs: boosts apply when packs open, so time your openings to the shop clock. The upgrade economy guide covers the timing loop in detail.

How to hunt mutations efficiently

Stock up on free packs

Redeem all active codes for a stack of free Mythic Packs, and keep claiming daily rewards and the Word of the Day.

Watch the shop for a 2x Mutation slot

The global stock rotates every 20 minutes. Grab the boost when it appears instead of opening packs at random times.

Open everything in the boost window

Mutations roll per pack opened — more rolls inside a boost window is strictly better than the same rolls outside it.

Push luck between windows

Luck upgrades raise baseline rarity odds for every future pack, which compounds with the next Mutation boost you catch.

What we don't know yet

Mutation pull rates, whether mutations multiply board income, and whether mutated letters count differently on the wall are all unconfirmed — the feature shipped August 28 and the developer hasn't posted numbers. As newer servers settle, verified details will be added here. Meanwhile, Word of the Day covers the other progression layer that shipped in the same update.
